NCRD's Sterling Institute of Pharmacy is
located in Nerul, the biggest residential node of Navi Mumbai. It is situated in a serene and peaceful
environment. It is easily accessible by rail from the Seawoods- Darave railway station on the harbour line
of Mumbai suburban railway in Nerul node and by road from the national highway-4 or the Palm Beach road.
The National Centre for Rural Development (NCRD) is a registered Public Charitable Trust, founded in 1991 with the aim of Rural Development. During the course of its various activities aimed at the rural youth, NCRD realized that true rural development is not possible without basic education for the rural folk, and hence NCRD entered the field of education.
The Indian pharmaceutical industry is driving product development and breaking new grounds in medicine research worldwide. As per the report of business standard 2014, the Indian pharmaceutical industry is one of the world's largest and most developed, ranking 4th in volume terms and 13th in value terms.
It is bound to have an ever growing demand of pharmacy professionals not only in the country, but even worldwide. Anticipating this demand the NCRD Trust put the wheels in motion that brought about the existence of Sterling Institute of Pharmacy.

NCRD's Sterling Institute of Pharmacy, Navi Mumbai, proudly congratulates Mr. Sai Bhadrappa Mulgi for his exceptional academic excellence and remarkable national-level achievement.
Mr. Mulgi secured the Gold Medal in the SWAYAM–NPTEL course "Experimental Nanobiotechnology", emerging as the Top Ranker across India. In recognition of his outstanding performance, he was selected for the highly prestigious NPTEL Summer Internship Programme 2026 at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee under the mentorship of Prof. P. Gopinath, Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering.
During his four-week research internship (8 June – 5 July 2026), Mr. Mulgi successfully worked on the research project titled "One-Pot Synthesis of a BSA–Gold–Niclosamide Nanocarrier for Potential Applications in Cancer Theranostics."
Throughout the internship, he demonstrated exceptional dedication, scientific curiosity, and research aptitude. He gained extensive hands-on experience in nanomaterial synthesis, characterization, and biomedical applications, while further strengthening his laboratory and analytical skills. His exemplary performance, professionalism, and commitment to research were highly appreciated by his mentor at IIT Roorkee.
This outstanding accomplishment reflects Mr. Mulgi's hard work and perseverance, while also highlighting the strong academic and research culture nurtured at NCRD's Sterling Institute of Pharmacy. His success serves as an inspiration to fellow students to pursue excellence in academics, innovation, and research.
